Hatha Yoga is the most widely practiced form of yoga in the world. The focus is on physical and mental strength and it is designed to stimulate the mind-body connection. The classes run one hour in length and are sequenced to work the three pillars of yoga – strength, balance, and flexibility. The poses build onto each other to open the joints and prepare you for upcoming postures. This is a slower paced style of yoga emphasizing proper body alignment and breath. Because of this, it’s ideal for beginners.

Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic, flow style of yoga that builds stamina, flexibility and endurance. It was developed by Sri Pattabhi Jois and is a pre-set series of postures that are uniquely linked together for maximal physical and mental gains. Building on Hatha foundations and postures Ashtanga adds a dynamic, vigorous flow between poses, or asanas. This flow, called a vinyasa, not only links the asanas to one another but also aids and encourages the synchronization of breath to movement. This improves lung function and leads to more efficient use of oxygen throughout the whole body.

The Modified Primary Series can be practiced by yogis of all levels. We offer variations of pre-set poses to make the practice accessible for everyone as you work towards the full expression of the asana.

ROCKET Yoga THE foundation of ‘Power Yoga’ this advanced class blends poses from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Series of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. Developed by the late Larry Schultz this flow is ideal for athletes and yogis with experience who want to challenge themselves to a more intense practice.

At this point in time I am one of only three people in all of Canada who are trained to teach Rocket Yoga!
